Origin: Probably made in Turkey. Aquired in Ramleh, Palestine.

 

Original Owner: Jeedeh's Grandmother

 

Current Keeper: Mona Khammash (Jeedeh al-Khairi Khammash's daughter)

 

Current Location: Amman, Jordan

 

Material: Falamank Diamond set in gold

 

Description:

Size: About 1.5cm x 2cm.

Oval shaped ring with several small falamank diamonds.

Missing one small diamond.

One corner of the setting is broken and missing

Ring might have originally been a pendant as there is what appears to be a small hoop at

the top.

 

Story: Passed down from the great grandmother who had travelled with her brothers to Turkey, to Mrs. Khammash's mother, to her. And from her, to her daughter Mona, when she divided her jewelry among her children. Mona expects to one day pass it on to her own daughter Nour. Mona now holds on to the ring and keeps it with her as she shuttles between Jordan and Bahrain for work.
